Cardiac muscles and smooth muscles are involuntary in their actions.
Explanation:
- Cardia muscles are the muscles of heart.
- Smooth muscles are found in hollow visceral organs i.e stomach, intestine, blood vessels etc...
Both these muscles are innervated by the autonomic nervous system and thus they are not in our conscious control. And ofcourse, they shouldn't be. Because if they would be voluntary, then they could have drastic effects.
Let's suppose that cardiac muscles: that constantly pump the blood throughout the body making the heart to beat, are voluntary. Then it means that our heartbeat is in our control which is quite inefficient and a meaningless idea...
Because the process that is efficiently set by the Nature can never be managed as efficiently by man.
