Actually "degree" is a unit, not a variable.
Explanation:
In fact it is the name for several units, depending on whether we are talking about temperature (Fahrenheit, Celsius), or angles.
The degree, depending on the type, may be subdivided in decimals, or in minutes and seconds and decimal parts of seconds .
The things expressed by degrees are thus continuous variables.
