Prokaryotes (bacteria) are organism that do not have a true nucleus.

Explanation:

Prokaryotic cells lack a defined nucleus and instead have a large non-linear loop of DNA present in the cell, along with plasmids which are smaller loops of DNA of which there are a variable number, these are used amongst bacteria communities to transfer antibiotic resistance genes from bacteria to bacteria.
Furthermore, we know prokaryotes do not have defined nuclei as this would require the DNA to be membrane bound by a nuclear envelope, and prokaryotes have no membrane bound organelles present in their cell.
