Read the explanation please!

Explanation:

Do you have a graphing calculator? You can graph it on there too!

If you do not then you can do this:

Start off by picking easy numbers to graph. I'd recommend picking a 0, two on the positive side and two on the negative side. I'm going to pick -2,-1,0,1, and 2.

Now, substitute each number that you've chosen into the x variable of the equation!

Number Chosen: -2

y=x-5
y=(-2)-5
y=-7

Your next step should be to substitute the rest of the numbers in!

Number Chosen: -1

y=x-5
y=(-1)-5
y=-6

Number Chosen: 0

y=x-5
y=(0)-5
y=-5

Number Chosen: 1

y=x-5
y=(1)-5
y=-4

Number Chosen: 2

y=x-5
y=(2)-5
y=-3

My coordinates end up to be these numbers:
(-2,-7), (-1,-6), (0,-5),(1,-4), (2,-3)

Finally, plot these numbers on the graph!

graph{x-5 [-11.155, 9.845, -8.91, 1.59]}

Hope that helped!
