The mature ovum is located in the ovary.

Explanation:

In humans, the mature egg cell (ovum; plural ova)
is located in the ovaries.

The ovaries are two small organs, about the size of your thumb, that are located in the female pelvis. They are attached to the uterus, one on each side, near the opening of the fallopian tube.

The ovaries contain the female gamete (sex cell), called the oocyte, also called the “egg” or "ovum.".

The ova are located in those ovaries.

At birth, a female mammal has all the ova she will ever have, but they are immature.

Under the influence of hormones, the ova will start to mature at puberty.

Next the ovum leaves the ovary and goes down the Fallopian tube.

After one of the numerous immature ova becomes mature, it leaves the ovary and begins to go along the Fallopian tube to the uterus.

The Fallopian tube is lined with cilia, which brush the egg cell along. At this point, the egg cell is a female gamete (unfertilized cell.)

If the egg meets up with sperm cells in the Fallopian tube, it will be fertilized and become a zygote.

This image shows what happens next after the mature ovum leaves the ovary and travels along the Fallopian tube, meeting with sperm cells along the way to the uterus, now as a fertilized egg (a zygote)
