Basics of classification is ease in study of organisms.

Explanation:

In living kingdom there is huge diversity. It becomes impossible to study all organisms.
During classification similar organisms are studied. It becomes easy to study. For example Eukaryotes and Prokaryots . That is organism without nucleus and with nucleus.
The presence or absence of nucleus is the criteria.
Plants are with chlorophill and animals without chlorophill and so on
The characters on which the classification is designed are arbitrary.
In environment organsms are never exist according to classification. They exist in their niche
