Explanation:

Light is not refracted (bent as it slows down) by a metallic surface, but reflected.

Finally, light is a transverse wave (the disturbance is perpendicular to the direction of motion of the wave) not a longitudinal wave (the disturbance ‘wobbles’ back and forth parallel to the direction of travel of the wave.)
