Eye ball has got three layers,from outside inwards they are, Fibrous coat,vascular coat and neural coat.

Cones are specialised pigment containing cells which are cone shaped,present in the retina(in the neural coat).Cone cells contain pigment known as Iodopsin,Cyanopsin,which help in colour vision.

Whereas cornea is the anterior 1/3 rd of the outer fibrous coat and forms a part of refractive media of eye,it is relatively avascular gets nutrition from lacrimal fluid,cornea has got 5 layers,from outside inwards they are-

  1. Corneal Epithelium
  2. Anterior limiting membrane or Bowman's membrane
  3. Substantia propia
  4. Posterior limiting membrane or Descement's membrane
  5. Corneal endothelium
