The sun and all the planets orbiting around it plays a specific role. If they would not be present then it would be impossible for the Earth to sustain life.

It is explained briefly in points...

Explanation:

  1. THE SUN- It holds the solar system together with its gravitational force. It also provides us with adequate amount of heat and light which helps the Earth from being o cold and lifeless planet.

  2. THE MOON- It shines brightly in the night sky giving us a source of light during the night time. It doesn't have its own light but reflects the sun's rays and thus produces light.

  3. MERCURY- It helps in balancing the solar system, without it our solar system will be thrown off balance.

  4. VENUS- It helps the scientists to measure the distance of earth from the sun.

  5. MARS- This is useful for scientific researches and space missions.

  6. JUPITER- It has a heavy gravitational force which pulls all the asteroids from the asteroid belt towards it and thus protects the Earth.

  7. SATURN- It keeps the outer planets in balance and thus helps in keeping the Earth in a balance.

  8. URANUS- It have a very tilted axis, so it helps the scientists to compare between the tilted and a up-right planet.

  9. NEPTUNE- Its very far away so it is still unknown, about how it is useful.

As we have seen above all the planets and the sun itself as all has a role of its own...
