Sunflower seed is ex-albuminous.
Explanation:
Seeds in dicots are mainly ex-albuminous or non-endospermic;
whereas in monocots seeds are mostly albuminous or endospermic.
Sunflower seeds are dicotyledonous and non-endospermic or ex-albuminous. Most of the dicotyledonous seeds are non-endospermic, e.g. gram, pea, bean, etc. Castor seeds are exception as these are dicotyledonous and endospermic or albuminous.
