Sorry for the super short answer. Yes! The cool thing about the periodic table is that it was intentionally put together to find patterns in elements. When Dmitri Mendeleev (An chemist from a long time ago) put it together, there were gap in his table that came from unknown elements. He was able to predict what those mystery elements would be like, and many of his prediction came true when those elements got discovered.

Even nowadays when scientists are finding new elements, they take guesses on what the element will be like by using these patterns. Sometimes, though not always, they're correct

These trends do have exceptions, and they have to be studied together since one property can affect another. These trends are called periodic trends. If you have a chem. teacher (I hope you do) then they'll do an entire unit on it. Pay attention and write down notes, they'll be short.
