Welfare State


Johnson created the Great Society which was based on Keynesianism and Welfare State initiatives, it created Medicare and Medicaid which enabled both elderly people and poor people to afford health care. Social programs started all throughoutthe country such as the Community Action Program which created Community Action Agencies, they were aimed at helping the poor become self-sufficient.
