Billy needs to read 500 minutes this week for his English class. He is going to read 6 days. If he already reads 15 minutes every day, how many additional minutes does he need each day to read at least 500 minutes?

68. bar(3)

Explanation:

Firstly, you need to work out how many minutes he is already reading for; in this case, you do 15 multiplied by 6 which is

15 xx 6 = 90

Then to work out how many minutes more he needs to read, you do

500 - 90 = 410

Finally, to work out how many minutes per day, you just divide 410 by the 6 days he's going to read for. So you get the answer of

205/3 = 68. bar(3)

Hopefully this helped...
