Photosynthesis occurs in 2 steps:
Light Reaction- It occurs in presence of light in granum part of chloroplast .
Dark Reaction- It occurs irrespective of light, but is dependent upon the end-products of light reaction i.e ATP and #NADPH2#. It occurs in stroma part of chloroplast.

Dark reaction simply involves reduction of #CO2# to glucose ( #C6H12O6# in a series of steps. Most common pathway occuring in dark reaction is C3 pathway . It is observed in most of the dicot families. Pea plant in question exhobits C3 pathway. It belongs to Family Papilionaceae, a dicot family.

C4 pathway is not that common. It is found in some monocots, e.g. Maize.
