Can synthetic division be used for non-monic and/or non-linear divisors?

Yes. It is certainly more complicated than division by a monic binomial but it can be done.


Hopefully the example below will demonstrate the process.

Note you should understand synthetic division with a binomial divisor before trying to follow this process.
