evaporation is the change of liquid water to gaseous water at normal temperatures. Evaporation requires energy, The heat of Vaporization is the energy needed to change liquid to gas.

Explanation:

Transpiration is a form of evaporation vital to trees and other plants.
As the water evaporates from the leaves on the top of the tree it creates a vacuum that draws new water up to the leaves that is necessary for photosynthesis.

Dog pant to speed evaporation of water from their mouths. The heat of vaporization comes from the dog's body. The heat is absorbed by the water that is evaporating cooling the dog's body. This helps the animal maintain a healthy body temperature.

People in cold climate have to be careful because of evaporation. Exercise will cause the body to overheat and sweat. As the sweat evaporates the reaction will cause the body to cool down possibly causing hypothermia.
