The process of Mitosis. Prophase.

First the chromosomes condense in so called supercoiling and become visible under a light microscope.

The nuclear membrane surrounding the chromosomes fades and disappears.

Spindle fibres are then formed in the centrioles. One centriole on each side of the cell.
This is where the new nuclei will be formed before the cell divides.
