Explanation:

As a preview of what might have happened if the allies invaded Japan it was sobering. Casualties were high and lots of civilian casualties including many suicides. Okinawa is worth a visit if you have a chance. There is a large memorial in the south of the island. There is a small museum to the High School students who graduated that year. Not many survived.
