Does a community include both biotic and abiotic factors?
The basic "pyramid" for organisms are:
Organism: one individual
Population: all the individuals in a species in an area
Community: all the populations in an area
Ecosystem: all biotic and abiotic factors in an area
Biome: all global ecosystems with similar climate and biotic/abiotic factors
Biosphere: all life on earth
You can think of communities in two ways: 1) an ecosystem minus the rock, dirt, etc. (abiotic factors). 2) all the organisms in an area/ecosystem.
