# Does oxygen exists in the air as comidiat molecules?

$\text{Oxygen exists in air as diatomic molecules.............}$
The oxygen molecule, ${O}_{2}$, of course is a diatom. So is ${N}_{2}$. In fact most of the elemental gases are diatomic or binuclear, cf. ${H}_{2} , {N}_{2} , {O}_{2} , {F}_{2} , C {l}_{2}$...........The exceptions to this rule are the Noble Gases which are mononuclear. This is something you simply have to know.
