Explanation:

There are 4 gene mutations that occurs in a gene. They normally occurs as a result of errors during DNA replication.

The 4 are:

  1. Substitution - not this one.
  2. Deletion - this one.
  3. Insertion - not this one.
  4. Duplication - not this one.

Deletion is exactly what it sounds like. It's when a base is lost.

This is also present in chromosomal mutations with the same concept applied.
