Explanation:

For #y=arc cot(x)# we get
#y'=-1/(x^2+1)# so
#y'(-1)=-1/2#
Further:
#y(-1)=3/4*pi#
and we get
#y=-1/2x+n#
For #x=-1# we have #3/4*pi# so
#3/4*pi-1/2=n#
Finally we obtain
#y=-1/2*(x+1)+3/4*pi#
