Foods which increases the only number of rod cells in human eye ?

Numbers of rods and cones are fixed since its complete development,following any trauma (endogenous as well as exogenous,vascular as well as neural) there number may decrease as they will die out.

But their number never increases!!!

Rod cells have a pigment called Rhodopsin,which undergoes cyclical changes to its isomorphs,which helps you to have scotopic vision(vision in dim light).

Vitamin A (retinaldehyde form) maintains this cycle acting as a prosthetic group of opsin protein.

So foods rich in Vitamin A can help you to maintain good scotopic vision not increase your rod cells!
