# Give a real life situation problem which is mathematically translated into 2x+y+2z=18?

## Give a real life situation problem, which is mathematically translated into $2 x + y + 2 z = 18$, $x + 3 y + 3 z = 24$, $3 y = 6$ Also, explain how this linear system models your problem.

I tried this...

#### Explanation:

You go to the market and buy two apples one orange and two bananas paying R$18 . Once at home grandpa Ernesto asks you to buy some more fruits so you buy one apple, three oranges and three bananas paying R$24.
Once at home aunt Rosa asks for more oranges for the juice so you go back to the market to get three oranges paying R$6. How much each type of fruit costs? I invented the symbol of the currency and the names. Mar 13, 2017 (In addition to solution and hint by Gió) Apple = Rs./$ 3 (per piece)
Oranges = Rs. /$2 (per piece) Bananas = Rs./$ 5 (per piece)

#### Explanation:

$2 x + y + 2 z = 18$ ...(1)
$x + 3 y + 3 z = 24$ ...(2)
$3 y = 6$ ...(3)

From 3 we get,
$3 y = 6 , y = 2$

Multiply -2 to both sides of 2 and add to 1 we get,
$5 y + 4 z = 30$
substituting $y = 2$ we get,
$z = 5$

Placing value of y and z to 1 we get,
$x = 3$
