Homogeneous mixtures can be only separated by chemical process. Then why we use the process of evaporation ( physical process) for separating the solution of salt in sugar (homogeneous mixture)?

Homogeneous solutions could certainly be separated by distillation.

Explanation:

You got an involatile solute (to a first approx.), and certainly the solvent could be distilled off. Alternatively, were the solvent water, and the solute ionic, addition of say ethyl alcohol could precipitate the solute. If I have missed the point of your question, come again, and I will attempt to clarify.
