How can I make this story understandable by 6 years old?

As the war goes on, the United States of America is fighting so hard to take control of Japanese Islands. The U.S. military did a lot of offensive attack to major cities in Japan in order to weaken the Japanese force.

The Japanese still doesn’t want to surrender despite of the very bad destruction of their major cities and forces.

So, the President of the United States of America which is Harry Truman approved the military to use their secret weapon which is the Atomic Bomb.

This is the first plane that dropped the atomic bomb in Hiroshima, a major island of Japan. The name of this plane was “Enola Gay” and the atomic bomb was given a code name “little boy”.

After the bombing, an estimated of 90,000 - 166,000 people died in Hiroshima.

The U.S. asked Japan again to surrender but they refuse! So, the U.S. decided to drop the second bomb in another island of Japan, which is Nagasaki.

This is the plane the seconde plane that dropped the second atomic bomb in Nagasaki, a major island of Japan. The name of this plane was “Bockscar” and the second atomic bomb was given a code name “fat man”.

The total casualties casualties caused by the second atomic bomb was 60,000 - 80,000.

Over time the Japanese and Americans became friendly and the Japanese cities were rebuilt but they still remember those terrible days and the people that died.

Also children make origami Cranes to remember the people.
