Weathering, erosion and deposition are three major components of the rock cycle.

Explanation:

Weathering breaks up rocks in place by wind, frost, or water.
Erosion tends to transport broken rock particles from where they are broken apart to somewhere else.
Deposition is when the eroded materials finally settle down into a new location and often over time, form a new sedimentary rock
