How do I find the domain of the square root function?

The parent square root function #sqrt(x)#: is defined for all values where #x# is greater than zero. You can see it on the graph below:

The function extends forever in the positive direction but not in the negative direction. This is because inputting a negative number to the square root function will yield an imaginary result.
