How do plants and animals obtain energy?

Sun is the ultimate source of energy for all Living organisms , whether plant or animal , both either directly or indirectly depend upon the sun for energy requirement.

eg - Plant utilise the energy of sunlight to prepare it's food and animal eat plants thereby indirectly utilising the energy of sun.
