How do plants and animals rely on each other to maintain the atmospheric oxygen and carbon dioxide content?

1 Answer

Plants and animals maintain the carbondioxide and oxygen.

Explanation:

  1. The carbon cycle and oxygen cycle is mainly maitained by the plants animals.
  2. Oxygen is released in the environment from the water by the process of photosynthesis. Although, oxygen is utilised by both plants and animals for the processs of respiration.
  3. Photosytnesis and respirstion are opposite metabolic actvities to each other. In photosynthesis, carbondioxide is utilised, while in repiration oxygen utlised.
  4. In photosythesis, carbon dioxide is utilised from the atmosphere and oxygen is released from the water by the process of photolysis of water.
  5. In respiration carbon dioxide and water is released from the product of photosynthesis i.e., glucose.
