How do we hear sound?

We hear sound through our ears. The shape of the outer part of the ear is like a funnel called pinna. When sound enters it, it travels through a canal at the end of which a thin membrane is stretched tightly. This is called the eardrum. From the eardrum, the vibrations are passed on to the inner ear and then to the brain. So, that is how we hear.
