How do we use Cartesian plot for #r = 6/(3Cos(theta) + 2Sin(theta))#?

I know that we need to multiply by r and use #x^2 + y^2 = r^2# in the above equation.

Given: #r = 6/(3Cos(theta) + 2Sin(theta))#

Multiply both sides by #(3Cos(theta) + 2Sin(theta))#:

#r(3Cos(theta) + 2Sin(theta)) = 6#

Use the distributive property:

#(3rCos(theta) + 2rSin(theta)) = 6#

Substitute #rcos(theta) = x# and #rsin(theta) = y#

#3x + 2y = 6 larr# you can plot this line
