Think at the two squares as 2 similar objects that, as `x`, can be added giving `x+x=2x` so:
`sqrt(10)+sqrt(10)=2sqrt(10)=`
now `2` can "enter" into the root:
`=sqrt(4*10)=sqrt(40)`
