In general you can not add roots of different values unless the can be simplified to a common value.

In this case, we are in luck:
`sqrt(128) +sqrt(50)`

`= sqrt(8*8*2) + sqrt(5*5*2)`

`= 8sqrt(2)+5sqrt(2)`

`=13sqrt(2)`
