In fact you don't do this.


Grams are a measure of mass. Fluid ounces are a measure of volume. Typically, we use fluid ounces for measurement of water, and thus #"1 fluid ounce"# #-=# #28.5*mL#.

Mind you, also typically, fluid ounces are used for the measurements of spirituous liquors. These would be less dense than water. Why?
