# How do you divide and rationalize sqrt24/sqrt3?

Apr 1, 2015

Working this out gives $2 \sqrt{2}$
$\frac{\sqrt{24}}{\sqrt{3}} = \sqrt{\frac{24}{3}}$
$= \sqrt{8}$
$= \sqrt{2 \times 4}$
Note that : $2 \times 4 = 8$
$= \sqrt{2} \times \sqrt{4}$
YES: $\sqrt{2 \times 4} = \sqrt{2} \times \sqrt{4}$
$\implies \sqrt{2} \times 2$
$\implies 2 \sqrt{2}$
