How do you estimate carrying capacity of a population?

Feb 9, 2018

Carrying capacity is the maximum no. of organism that a habitat can support based on its resources & beyond carrying capacity it can not support more individual.

Explanation:

It can be calculated by using this equation-

$\frac{\mathrm{dN}}{\mathrm{dt}} = r N \left[\frac{K - N}{K}\right]$

where

• $N =$ population density at time $t$

• $r =$ intrinsic rate of natural increase

• $K =$ carrying capacity
