# How do you find the average rate of change of a function between two points?

Average change= change in $y$ divided by change in $x$
Let's say we have points $\left({x}_{1} , {y}_{1}\right) \mathmr{and} \left({x}_{2} , {y}_{2}\right)$
Then average change=$\frac{\Delta y}{\Delta x} = \frac{{y}_{2} - {y}_{1}}{{x}_{2} - {x}_{1}}$
