How do you find the slope given y=2x+5?

The slope of the line is 2.


The equation of a straight line has many forms out of which one of the form is known as 'the slope intercept form'
The slope intercept form of a straight line is written as : y=mx+c.
Here, m is the slope of the line and c is the y-intercept( the point where the line cuts the y-axis).
When you compare your equation with the slope intercept form, you get that m=2.Hence the slope of the line is 2.
