You need a minimum of three points to plot a straight line.
$y = 2 x - 7$ the $y$ intercept is (0,-7)
When $y = 0 , 2 x = 7 s o \implies x = 3.5$ this gives (3.5,0)
Then pick another value for $x$ and substitute it into the equation to get a $y$ value.
Plot these three points and draw a straight line through them.
You are often given end points for you to plot the graph between so you only draw the line between these points.
