# How do you rewrite 0.75h+1.25b =30 in standard form?

Jan 31, 2015

Either you want $h =$ as function of $b$, or the other way around.

Possibility a: $h = f \left(b\right)$
(step 1) $b$'s to the right
$0.75 h + 1.25 b = 30 \to 0.75 h = - 1.25 b + 30$

(step 2) divide everything by 0.75

$h = - \frac{1.25}{0.75} b + \frac{30}{0.75} = - 1 \frac{2}{3} b + 40$

Possibility b: $b = f \left(h\right)$
(step 1) $h$'s to the right
$0.75 h + 1.25 b = 30 \to 1.25 b = - 0.75 h + 30$

(step 2) divide everything by 1.25

$b = - \frac{0.75}{1.25} h + \frac{30}{1.25} = - \frac{3}{5} h + 24$
