Explanation:

Order of operations. Some people learn it as BODMAS
(Brackets, Orders or pOwers, Division and Multiplication, Addition and Subtraction)
and others learn it as PEMDAS (Parenthesis, Exponents, Multiplication and Division, Addition and Subtraction)

It's the same either way. You must solve the expression in that order.

Start with parenthesis/brackets:
Do the inner ones first, the ( )
#[5xx(3-1)]+[4-(6-:2)]#
#=[5xx2]+[4-3]#

There are no exponents/powers.

Next multiplication or division:
#[5xx2]+[4-3]#
#=10+[4-3]#

Finally, addition or subtraction.
Remember, parenthesis/brackets must be done FIRST.
So you cannot do #10-4#, you must do #4-3# first.

#10+[4-3]#
#=10+1#
#=11#
