The aim is to rearrange the equation to give us #z = # something.

First we multiply out the brackets

#15 + 5(z-3) = 4z + 5 to#

#15 + 5z -15 = 4z + 5#

Which is the same as

#5z = 4z + 5#

Finally we take #4z# from both sides

#z = 5#
