$m = 7$

When you have an equation, you are allowed to do the same thing two both sides of the equation, and the equality will still stand.

It is like saying if two apples are the same weight, then two half-apples will also be the same weight, because the apples were equal to begin with.

So we have $4m = 28$

We can divide both sides by 4.

so $(4m)/4 = 28/4$

so $m = 7$
