$x = - \frac{3}{2} \mathmr{and} \frac{1}{4}$ are solutions
$5 x - 3 = \pm 7 x$
$5 x - 3 = 7 x$ gives -3=$2 x$ or $x = - \frac{3}{2}$
$5 x - 3 = - 7 x$ gives $- 3 = - 12 x$ or $x = \frac{1}{4}$
