Substituting equation $(2)$ in equation $(1)$ to find $x$

$2x + 3y = 1$
$2x + 3color(red)((x-8)= 1$
$2x +3x - 24 = 1$
$5x = 25$

Substituting $x$ in equation $(2)$ to find $y$

$y = x-8$
