2x + 3y = 1 .......equation (1)
y = color(red)(x – 8 ...............equation (2)

Substituting equation (2) in equation (1) to find x

Explanation:

2x + 3y = 1
2x + 3color(red)((x-8)= 1
2x +3x - 24 = 1
5x = 25

color(blue)(x = 5

Substituting x in equation (2) to find y

y = x-8
y = 5-8 , color(blue)(y =-3

The solutions for the system of equations are
