6/11x+4=2/11+16

Give all the expressions in this equation the same denominator.

6/11x+44/11=2/11+176/11

Multiply both sides of the equation by 11...

6x+44=2+176

Add things up...

6x+44=178

Subtract 44 from both sides of the equation...

6x=178-44

6x=134

Divide both sides of the equation by 6...

x=134/6

Simplify...

x=67/3

And if you still aren't satisfied...

x=66/3 + 1/3

x=22+1/3

In decimal terms...

x=22.33333333333...
