first rearrange the first equation so that it is the same as the second $2 x - 10 y = - 42$ after place them one below the other.then change the sign of the second equation and remember when you will change the sign of x every other sign in that equation will change.after doing this the sign of x will be different and you will cancel them and then calculate y $- 3 y - 10 y = - 42 - 8$
$y = 3.85$ after getting why put in equation 1 and put the value of y to get x $2 x - 10 \left(3.85\right) = - 42$
