The solution for the system of equations is:

$color(blue)(4x) + 6y =12$ ............equation $(2)$

Solving by elimination:

Subtracting equation $2$ from equation $1$ :

$cancelcolor(blue)(4x) - 8y = cancel12$
$-cancelcolor(blue)(4x)- 6y = cancel(-12)$

$-14y =0$

$y = 0/(-14)$

Finding $x$ from equation $1:$

$x - 2y = 3$

$x = 3 + 2y$

$x = 3 + 2 xx 0$

$x = 3 + 0$
