x + 8y = 15 --------------(1)
2x + 5y = 2 -------------(2)

Multiply equation (1) by 2, we get

2x + 16y = 30 ----------(3)

subtract equation 2 from equation 3 we get,

11y = 28

y = #28/11#

substitute in equation in 1
x + 8(#28/11#) = 15

x+ #224/11# = 15

x= 15- #224/11#

x = #(55-224)/11#

x= #-169/11#
